Sylvain Chateau, Co-Founder and COO, Beyond Ratings

Sylvain started his career in strategy consulting at Booz Allen Hamilton and Roland Berger, and rapidly moved to the world of entrepreneurship. He developed Enerdata, a leading international provider of energy data and modeling for over 180 countries, for 10 years, as the CEO and major shareholder. He accompanied the management transition when the company was acquired. Sylvain is an ESSEC graduate.

Chris Watling is CEO and Chief Market Strategist at Longview Economics – a company he founded in 2003. Longview Economics is an independent consultancy specializing in Market Timing,Macroeconomic, Thematic & Commodity research. Chris, in conjunction with colleagues, has developed a number of proprietary quantitative models that add precision to investment strategies and has pioneered the Longview “Old Normal” thesis regarding long secular cycles in global financial markets. Longview Economics has strong macro and quantitative views across all major asset classes and markets. Longview’s market timing research is focused on helping investors time markets on a short and medium term view and, invest for the long term. Prior to founding Longview Economics, Chris worked in the City (of London) for 12 years with Cazenove and then CAI Cheuvreux as a global economist and strategist. He also held roles as an Equity Analyst and Corporate Financier at Cazenove in the mid 1990s. Chris qualified as a Charted Accountant with KPMG and holds a Master’s & Bachelor’s degree in Economics. He regularly chairs & speaks a global investment conferences, is often quoted in the financial press and appears frequently on CNBC & other media outlets. Jean-Michel Six est responsable des études économiques pour l’Europe chez Standard and Poor’s (S&P) depuis 2005. D’abord basé à Londres, il a rejoint le bureau de Paris de S&P en Janvier 2008. Ses responsabilités comprennent la préparation de scenarios économiques et monétaires pour les différents pays de L’Union Européenne et la coordination des hypothèses économiques utilisées par les équipes de Rating de S&P. Jean-Michel est fréquemment amené à s’exprimer au nom de S&P dans des conférences et des séminaires regroupant investisseurs et émetteurs. Il participe également souvent à des débats dans les différents medias européens. Il a été  membre du « Shadow Council » de la BCE de 2006 à 2014. Il est membre du « Global Agenda Council on Europe » du World Economic Forum.
Avant d’assumer ces responsabilités,  Jean-Michel a été pendant plus de quinze ans directeur de la société de prévisions économiques DRI, filiale du groupe McGraw-Hill, d’abord depuis Londres jusqu’en 1993 puis à Boston jusqu’en 2005.
Jean-Michel est titulaire d’un doctorat en Sciences Économiques de l’Université de Paris-X ainsi que d’une licence d’anglais.

A l’occasion du premier Forum ISAG de l’année 2016, nous aurons le plaisir de rencontrer M. Edouard Cuendet, Directeur de la Fondation Genève Place Financière.

Edouard Cuendet, Directeur

Licencié en droit à l’Université de Berne en 1991, Edouard Cuendet a accompli un stage d’avocat auprès du Tribunal de Première Instance de Genève et de l’Etude Mentha, Maystre Morand & Amsler. Il a réussi son brevet en 1994 et s’est principalement occupé d’affaires judiciaires, dans les domaines du droit bancaire, du droit commercial et de la propriété intellectuelle au sein de l’Etude Borel & Barbey.

En juin 1999, Edouard Cuendet a rejoint le Groupement des Banquiers Privés Genevois en qualité de Premier Secrétaire. Il a été nommé Secrétaire général du Groupement le 1er janvier 2010. Dans ces fonctions, il s’est consacré aux questions juridiques liées au secteur bancaire et aux affaires publiques genevoises. Il a représenté les banquiers privés genevois au sein de nombreuses associations politiques et économiques locales et a été leur porte-parole auprès des médias.

Depuis le 1er janvier 2014, il est le Directeur de la Fondation Genève Place Financière, l’organe faîtier de la place financière.

Edouard Cuendet siège depuis 2004 au Grand Conseil genevois. Il est notamment membre de la Commission des finances et de celle de l’économie.

« Investing in an age of uncertainty: How to generate alpha in an environment of unconventional monetary policy, changing demographics and a deleveraging world?”

As Co-Chief Investment Officer at Mirae Asset Global Investments (HK), Rahul Chadha helps oversee the entire Investment Unit comprising mainly portfolio managers, research analysts and traders who are responsible for the management of the firm’s Asia Pacific investment products. He is a member of the Investment Committee and plays a key role in the development and approval of internal investment policies, processes and key investment decisions for the entire Mirae Asset Global Investments Group. He also sits on the Risk Management Committee which oversees overall investment risk.

Furthermore, Rahul manages a number of the firm’s Asia Pacific equity portfolios and frequently interacts with portfolio companies and investors to communicate the company’s investment philosophy and views on the Asia Pacific markets. He has established strong relationships with industry peers and is also one of the company’s main spokesmen.
Rahul joined Mirae Asset as an Analyst in 2006. He was subsequently promoted to Portfolio Manager to manage some of the firm’s flagship funds and in 2008 became Senior Portfolio Manager. In 2011, he diversified into managing Asia Pacific mandates for Mirae Asset’s US & Luxembourg domiciled funds.

Rahul began his career in financial services in 1999 when he joined Dundee Mutual Funds as an Equity Analyst covering the entire range of listed India equities, leaving in 2003 to join Aviva Life Insurance as a Senior Equity Analyst. During his two-year stint with Aviva, the unit-linked and India portfolios have consistently outperformed the peers in their respective categories. He later joined Standard Chartered Mutual Funds as a Senior Equity Analyst for one year.
Rahul holds a degree in Master of Finance and Control, a postgraduate program with specialization in Finance and a Bachelor of Business Studies, an undergraduate management program with Marketing specialization, both from the University of Delhi in India. He speaks English and Hindi.
